Recently the presence of AI has exploded online, and access to free AI tools are readily available. This training course presents a cautionary overview warning of using unauthorized AI in the workplace.

Shadow AI is when employees use AI at work without approval. Course participants are shown how using unauthorized AI tools poses a risk to the company and its employees. The risks include data leakage, compliance violations, intellectual property exposure, and inaccurate or biased output. For example, if a finance analyst uploads a revenue spreadsheet that has confidential company data into a public AI tool, the data is outside of company-controlled systems.

This course explains how to avoid compromising sensitive data such as financial records and employee information. Before using an AI tool, find out if the tool is approved, if IT knows about it, and if the data can be shared.
