Course Overview
A study by the Corporate Leadership Council found the most important aspect of work is a manager who displays the characteristics of a quality manager. This course teaches leaders and managers how to develop those characteristics and how they relate to generating employees’ discretionary effort. Illustrating how discretionary effort is the employee’s willingness to go over and above the tasks and time they’re paid for, this course opens by defining discretionary effort and showing why it is so important to the company’s success, growth, customer satisfaction, and morale. Upon listing and explaining the five most important factors employees want from their manager or leader, this course demonstrates the relationship between leadership, vision, and culture and getting “above and beyond” energy from team members. Offer this course so managers and team leaders learn how to motivate their people to choose to perform at their highest levels.
