Course Overview

The “HAZCOM Standard” established by OSHA in 1983 gives employees a legal right to know about any hazardous materials they can encounter in their workplace. The most recent update to this standard, The Final Rule, was made official in 2024. This course assists all industrial workplaces in adhering to this regulation.

Formally known as the Hazard Communication Standard, this OSHA regulation requires employers and HAZMAT suppliers to provide people who handle hazardous materials with complete information on how to work with them safely. By thoroughly explaining the three main sources of HAZMAT information, Safety Data Sheets, HAZMAT container labels, and a written Hazard Communication Program, this course teaches workers what each of those sources are, the type of information they provide, and where employees should be able to access them in their workplace.

Use this course so that all industrial environment employees who handle hazardous materials learn how using proper communication and safe work practices can help keep themselves, their coworkers, and the facility safe.
