Course Overview
The laboratory environment has the potential to expose workers to hazardous and/or infectious materials and a variety of other potential hazards. This course highlights the most common of these materials and hazards and the corresponding safe work practices. Stressing how laboratory work requires employees to perform a wide variety of tasks, processes, and procedures, this course begins by exploring how to identify the hazards inherent in this unique work environment. From glassware, hot materials, and compressed gases to electrical, slip and fall, and fire hazards, employees are shown how to identify and protect themselves from workplace injuries and incidents. Require this course to assure laboratory workers learn safe work practices and procedures for controlling hazards and preventing injuries.
