Course Overview
After a long and busy workday, it can seem like nothing was accomplished. This training course teaches practical and effective ways to increase productivity by using simple time management techniques.
The first step in time management is understanding how time is spent. Viewers are shown the importance of taking a few days to identify and write down everything that happens throughout the workday. This initial overview shows how much time different tasks really take, and how interruptions by phone calls, emails, or coworkers can derail plans.
This course explains the next step to time management, which is setting SMART goals. SMART is an acronym for goals that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound. Viewers are also shown how to prioritize tasks using the Eisenhower Matrix. This matrix categorizes tasks into quadrants: Urgent and Important; Important but Not Urgent; Urgent but Not Important; and Not Urgent and Not Important. The first quadrant, Urgent and Important, are tasks that require immediate action such as deadlines. The last quadrant, Not Urgent and Not Important, includes distractions such as social media and busywork.
Take this training course to learn simple and effective ways to manage time.
