Asbestos Awareness Training

With approximately 2,000 new cases of mesothelioma diagnosed in the United States each year, training on Asbestos Awareness remains essential for anyone who could be exposed to asbestos.
Through this training video your employees learn what asbestos is, how to reduce chances of exposure, how to recognize and deal with asbestos hazards, and how to understand the asbestos management plan in their facility.  The course also shares the three most common places asbestos occurs; which include thermal system insulation, floor and ceiling tiles, and sprayed on materials.
“Asbestos is the name given to a group of naturally occurring minerals that are resistant to heat and corrosion,” according to OSHA.gov. Every form of asbestos is not hazardous, but when in the hazardous form, if inhaled, it can cause mesothelioma and cancer of the lung.
The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) is a non-profit, and largest United States-based independent asbestos victims’ organization.  Linda Reinstein and Doug Larkin founded ADAO in 2004 after witnessing their loved ones’ lives get taken from asbestos-related diseases.  Given by ADAO’s website, their main goal is to, “give asbestos victims and concerned citizens a united voice, to raise public awareness about the dangers of asbestos exposure and to work towards a global asbestos ban.”
OSHA has created a self inspection checklist to evaluate your organization’s safety as it pertains to asbestos exposure.  Asbestos related diseases are preventable – make sure you are contributing to keeping employees safe from this potentially deadly exposure.
