Do You Know How to Prevent Workplace Violence?

Work place violence is the number one cause of death of women in the workplace.  Most employers and employees do not realize the magnitude of how learning the warning signs of violence in others is the most effective way to prevent violence in the work place.
BusinessTrainingPower.com offers training videos to inform employees on the seriousness of workplace violence and warning signs to look for.  Our video-based training courses such as; Workplace Violence: Employee Training, Workplace Violence, and Preventing Workplace Violence, thoroughly explain these concepts.
In this article, “No One Ever Just Snaps; Identifying – and acting on – red flags may help prevent workplace violence,” from the National Safety Council,  Ashley Johnson, associate editor, reiterates the importance of learning, recognizing and understanding the warning signs, or “red flags,” that perpetrators tend to display before their acts of violence.
Along with preventing violence, BusinessTrainingPower.com offers techniques to create a respectful workplace.  Through the video, Creating a Respectful and Positive Workplace, employees learn just how to create a positive workplace environment by using a mindset of inclusion, which demonstrates how differences make a team stronger.  This course is broken into four easy to understand sections:
1.  Avoid clearly discriminatory or intolerant behavior
2.  Respect the unique perspective and knowledge that each person has to offer
3.  Act in ways that build people up, not tear them down
4.  Let go of the belief that your way is always right
It is important to appreciate and utilize the different sources of knowledge in the organization.   With a diverse, respectful and positive work environment,  a more cohesive team will arise.  This in turn, will lead to a lower risk of workplace violence in your organization.
