Importance of utilizing mobile training initiatives
If you’re not using mobile technology in your workplace, you’re missing out in more ways than one.
A responsive learning management system is more important now than ever. According to a recent Tech Trends 2013 Elements of Postdigital report, a “mobile only” future is just around the corner. If you’re not utilizing mobile now, both your company and your employees are being held back from their full potential.
Mobile training provides flexibility for workers. If an employee can’t attend a training session, the ability to stream it on a tablet or phone the next day is crucial for work processes and output. Similarly, more than 90 percent of organizations polled in a mobile study indicated that the majority of their workers communicate via technological means.
Using applications and mobile devices allows employees to utilize training initiatives through technology collaboration and training tools. A better-trained workforce creates a more successful, happy employee which affects engagement and performance.
Using a mobile LMS allows workers to access training modules from anywhere, in addition to other important information such as calendars, scheduled meetings and fellow coworkers.
Mobile learning, particularly with video-based courses, allows employees to digest information at a speed in which they are most comfortable. Information is often learned best based on how the user retains it most effectively, and this can be improved using mobile technology. Features such as returning to past screens and re-watching already created packages can enhance the experience.
Mobile learning also has the ability to track how much employees actually understand. Review answers or hard-to-pick scenarios using mobile technology data. This type of automatic feedback transparency is vital to the learning process and overall impact of information.
It is important to remember that not all e-learning courses are created equally, many are not supported across all devices, browsers, and operating systems.
Mastery offers over 750 video-based e-learning courses that play on all devices (all desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones – including both Android and Apple products). Allowing learners the convenience of a seamless hand-off, so they can start a course on their desktop, pick up where they left off on their smart phone and finish on their tablet.
