Kids of Mastery Create a Training Video In Just a Few Hours
Last Thursday we celebrated the national “Take Your Child to Work Day.” Our four new “employees” were put to work on a project to create a Video On Demand course to train our employees on some of our emergency procedures.
The kids, ranging from 8 to 13 years old, learned about the production and publishing process and went over our Emergency Action Plan. They viewed one of our courses on Emergency Planning, and then got to work on creating a script based on our emergency procedures.
Armed with a couple of our Android phones to use as video recorders, the kids dove into video production. They recruited the assistance of other Mastery employees to help them demonstrate what to do in a medical emergency and severe weather emergency.
After they gathered the video clips they needed, our publishing department walked them through the process to take their raw video and turn it into a packaged Video On Demand course. The final product was uploaded to our Learning Management System by the time we all sat down for lunch.
Everyone was able to gather for a viewing of the course, and the kids received rave reviews. With little direction and a short amount of time they were able to come up with a great final product! They proved how easy it is to create “guerilla” type custom training courses.
Here’s a look at what they did:
