NPHW 2011 – Injury Prevention Starts In Your Community

Today, in accordance with the mission of National Public Health Week, remember injury and violence prevention starts in your community. Safety is No accident – there are plenty of deliberate actions we can take in order to create safer communities. The American Public Health Association suggests involvement in Neighborhood Watch programs, and other efforts working with school leaders and public officials to create awareness and reduce instances of injury and violence.
While initiatives within schools or organizations may seem isolated, they all become a part of the safety-culture of the greater community. Everyone needs to recognize the importance safety and injury prevention has on all aspects of your life. While the hazards and risks may change as your move from school to work to home, the potential for injury remains. For the health and safety of yourself, your family, co-workers, and fellow community members strive to “live injury-free” and remember “Safety is NO accident.”
As a provider of workplace health and safety training, Mastery Technologies offers several online training courses on preventing workplace violence.
