Properly constructed and maintained scaffolds are a valuable tool. They allow workers to perform tasks at elevated heights with room to move about and a place for supplies. However, if not used properly accidents and even death may occur.  The Occupation Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) reports that 72% of scaffolding accidents and fatalities in recent years are due to circumstances that could have been controlled  by simply complying with OSHA scaffolding standards.
