Is your workplace completely OSHA compliant?
Remaining compliant within the guidelines of the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is a vital component of any workplace.
Under this act, employers are responsible for providing a safe and healthy workplace, in addition to workers having a range of rights.
Under OSHA law employers have a responsibility to follow these rules, in addition to many others:

  • Comply with all standards, rules and regulations within the act.
  • Ensure employees have access to safety tools and equipment necessary to complete the job.
  • Establish and update procedures as necessary.
  • Examine workplace conditions to make sure they follow applicable OSHA standards.
  • Explain safety training, job expectations and changes in a language and manner all employees can understand.

How can employers and employees identify potential safety hazards in the workplace?

  • Learn and be able to educate employees on injury and illness prevention programs.
  • Obtain a free safety consultation at your work site to find any potential hazards.
  • Utilize OSHA’s hazard identification training tools.
  • Review OSHA’s constantly updated health and safety topics page that covers a range of industries including nail salons, confined spaces and hospital safety.

OSHA’s program Safety and Health Recognition Program (SHARP) understands the small businesses employer’s risk of worker injury and accidents and works with them to discover and eliminate these safety threats.
